Notes
I tried to record this show but sadly was plagued with equipment
problems. Thankfully my partner in crime Max was standing right next
to me and made this fine MD recording. There's a cut in "Big Day
Coming" due to a disc swap and a tiny bit of clipping in the bass during
"Moonrock Mambo" but overall the sound is very good.
Ira: "The last time we were here in philadelphia, we were, uh..."
guy: "Great!"
Ira: "Well thank you" (laughs)
Lovely, pin-droppingly quiet "Our Way to Fall" with Fred from the Sun
Ra Arkestra, after which Ira comments "I don't know about you, but I
couldn't be happier." Fine "Tiny Birds" as well. Overall I thought
the April show was better, but this was the last night of a long tour,
so hey.
And of course dealing with the inevitable "Free Bird" request:
James: "It's actually an amazing coincidence that somebody actually
yelled that at a show...that's awesome."
