Rezrov news

• 4/28/2000: rezrov may print a few annoying warning messages under perl 5.6, and the "lingo" cheat crashes it altogether. The fact that perl 5.6 disallows $_ transformations of qw() arrays is a source of great puzzlement to me. I will probably put out a minor update at some point.
• 6/13/99: Version 0.17 is released; some new cheats, a bit faster, numerous bugfixes.
• 3/30/99: I wrote an article about rezrov for The Perl Journal, which can be found in the current issue (#13, Spring 1999). "Buy one today. Better yet, buy a thousand." - Steve Meretzsky, Planetfall
• 3/7/99: Version 0.16 is released -- again it runs a bit faster and adds a few more toys. Some support for "font 3" character graphics (see above)
• 1/24/99: Here's version 0.15, which runs a bit faster and adds some new cheat commands; see the README. Note that the packages have been renamed from Rezrov:: to Games::Rezrov:: (I'm going to try uploading to CPAN).
• 1/10/99: I've released version 0.14, which adds limited "frotz" emulation and passes more spec compliance tests.
• 1/03/99: I've released version 0.13, which fixes color support and adds a few new features.
• 12/06/98: It seems some people have been trying to use rezrov for version 5 games; I guess they have faster machines than I do :)

  I'm working on fixing a few of the most glaring v5 bugs. I have color support working now in Tk, so new games that make use of color, such as photopia, should hopefully play closer to the way their authors intended. Curses and Win32 still need work.

  Preloaded line input is a nightmare; to quote the spec on this issue:

• 12/01/98: OK, there was a little delay, but without any further ado here now is version 0.12, whose biggest feature is Tk support! Mmm, variable-width fonts (see the screenshots)...
• 11/02/98: I've been working on adding a Tk frontend, which is coming along well and looks very nice. I'll probably post it in a few days.
• 10/24/98: version 0.11 released. See the README for details on changes.
• 10/18/98: first public release, version 0.10.
